Foundry Collection — Hawthorne Cocktail Strainer | Matte Nickel & Walnut
STRAIN WITH PRECISION.
A Hawthorne strainer in matte nickel and black walnut. Fine woven mesh, tight coil spring, zero ice in the glass.
The last thing between your drink and the glass should be something you trust.
A great pour is a clean pour. No ice chips. No fruit pulp. No surprise mint leaves. The RACWPUSE Hawthorne strainer is built for one job: letting the drink through and keeping everything else out. It does that job, every single time, without drama.
Woven by hand. Not stamped.
The center mesh is not a perforated plate. It is a hand-woven grid of stainless wire — over, under, over, under — each intersection locked by tension. The holes are smaller, the flow is smoother, and the cleanout is faster.
Surrounding the mesh, a ring of precision-drilled 2mm holes provides a second stage of filtration. Two stages, one clean pour.
Three systems. One clean pour.
Matte nickel. Walnut grip.
The body is matte nickel-plated 304 stainless — corrosion-resistant, fingerprint-resistant, and built for the wet, acidic environment of a busy bar. No plating flaking. No rust spots.
The handle is inlaid with North American black walnut, hand-shaped and oil-finished. It stays warm in your hand even when the strainer is ice-cold. It gives you a grip that doesn't slip. And it looks like it belongs on a bar, not in a toolbox.
The coil. Where the seal happens.
The coil spring is the heart of a Hawthorne strainer — and the part most brands get wrong. Ours is wound from 1.2mm stainless wire to a consistent 8mm loop diameter. It compresses evenly against any rim from 7cm to 9cm wide.
No gaps at the edges. No ice chips sneaking through. Just the drink, flowing clean into the glass.
Numbers that matter.
Seat. Press. Pour.
Made to strain thousands of drinks.
— Use a soft brush to clear the woven mesh if needed
— Hand wash with mild soap
— Dry thoroughly, especially the walnut handle
— Store flat or hanging — never nested with sharp tools
— Don't soak the wooden handle in liquid
— Don't use steel wool on the mesh or coil
— Don't bend the coil spring to adjust fit
— Don't use it as a scoop for ice or fruit
Measured. Verified.
"A drink with ice in it isn't a cocktail. It's a mistake. Don't make mistakes."
